Frequently Asked Questions About Training

  • Why do I need to attend training?

In every work situation, people need specific knowledge and skill, and the field of early care and education is no different. Caring for children in group settings requires a great deal of knowledge about child development; appropriate practices to support children's health, safety, and learning; working with families; and business practices. It's simply a fact that the more you know, the better care you will be able to provide to children and families. There is always more to learn about the field of early care and education. Ongoing training and education support continuous improvement and help providers develop and expand their skills and knowledge.

  • How much training do I need to attend?

Training needs vary from person to person, and change throughout a person's career. The hours, topics, and type of training you select depend on your personal and professional goals, as well as your current needs. For help in defining your goals and identifying the training and educational options available to help you reach your goals, contact a Professional Development Coordinator.
