It takes a systematic approach and sound business practices to operate a successful child care program. There are many things -- from programming to space maintenance to marketing -- that must be considered.

A child care provider's role in program planning depends on the position they hold. Family child care providers are typically responsible all aspects of program planning. At a child care center, different parts of the planning process may be divided between the director, supervisors or lead teachers.
