Physical Activity & Nutrition
Active play and healthy eating in early childhood can shape the health of children for the rest of their lives. Studies prove that children who engage in physical activities and healthy eating during the first five years of their life are more likely to carry those healthy habits into adulthood. In addition, eating well and being physically active helps children’s behavior, early learning, sleep patterns, and overall development.
Child care providers who encourage active play and serve healthy foods play a key role in helping children learn healthy habits that will help them become healthy adults. Child Care Aware® of North Dakota is working with childcare providers to turn the obesity trend around and contribute to the health and well-being of children.
