Physical Activity & Nutrition
Childhood obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes are on the rise in the United States. This epidemic not only affects children's health now, but also puts them at greater risk for stroke, heart disease or cancer when they become adults. CCR&R is working with childcare providers to turn this trend around and improve the health and well-being of the children.
Studies prove that children who engage in physical activities and healthy eating during the first five years of their life are more likely to carry those healthy habits into adulthood. Child care providers who encourage physical activity and healthy eating play a key role in helping children learn healthy habits that will help them become healthy adults.
