23 years, the project opened my eyes to a lot of things that need my attention and that I can improve on for a better program. It is a great asset to have trained staff who are more knowledgeable in the field of early childhood field. They and I both feel that they are more confident in their actions and are able to make more decisions on their own about the best care for children. Professional development knowledge will help guide staff to better choices in their training choices.” -Lavonne Byerle, ABC Child Care Center, Minot
“I didn’t think that the CDA credential could make such a difference. Now I realize it makes a world of difference. I have seen such great success and change in the practices of the staff who have worked to obtain this credential. The information gained from my participation in Aim 4 Excellence and three staff’s CDA training has inspired us to strive for being an even higher quality program and continue to make changes into the future. I’d like all my staff to obtain their CDA credential and strive for higher education to better serve the children of our community. This would not have been nor will it be possible without Child Care Resource and Referral’s financial assistance and support.” -Shawn Stettner, First Presbyterian Child Care Center, Bismarck
“Cassie has been a tremendous support for me. She has been understanding, caring, and respectful of me through this process. She made doing my CDA a great process and not at all scary. Doing my CDA was a great experience. I gained so much knowledge that has helped me improve the quality of my childcare. I am very thankful for CCR&R for this opportunity. I look forward to working with them in the future.” - Sarah Gardner, Family Child Care Provider, Dickinson
“Being a part of the Child Care Enhancement project was a very positive experience. The training that I received by completing the Aim 4 Excellence Director Credential will make me a much better and more qualified Center Director. The children will have an educated caregiver as a toddler teacher was given to opportunity to go through the CDA process. Through the incentive funds and the direction of CCRR staff I was able to add to my center toys and materials that will bring us higher ERS scores. We were also able to make improvements in the areas of Health and Safety. I appreciate being selected to be a part of this project”. - Laurie Gustafson, Castle Walz Child Care Center, Williston
"The biggest impact by far has been the education that I have received. You can give me a million toy s and tools but without the classes and mentoring that I was able to gain access to, my program and my children would remain unaffected. The impact that the Enhancement Program has had on my home daycare is really priceless. I was surprised with how much I didn’t know and how much I would be able to positively impact our environment and the education of my children! " - Teresa Hotten, Fargo
“I am so thankful for Growing Child Care initiative program. It has helped with my daycare in many ways. I picked out many different resources with my incentive dollars. I wanted to get the most involvement for the kids. Eyes light up when they saw the new materials we had received. They were excited as we took items from the boxes. I can’t thank CCR&R enough for keeping me involved with this project. Seeing the children’s faces when something new comes to daycare is worth all of the class hours. Along with the incentive dollars, I learned many new things while taking the online classes.” - Joleen Swang, Harvey
" With all the support and training that I have received from CCR&R, It has made us able to provide a wonderful quality childcare facility to a small rural community"- Nathan Presnell, New Rockford
