Licensing Information
North Dakota has laws governing early childhood services to safeguard children’s health, safety and development. A provider must be licensed if caring for more than 3 infants (0-2 years) or 5 children (0-12 years). Providers must count their own children who are under 12 years of age. Your county licenser determines the maximum number of children you can care for, based on space, qualifications and license type.

The type of child care program you are eligible to operate may depend on your educational background and training.  Click here for more information on licensing rules and then click on North Dakota.

Find your local licensor to assist you in the licensing process.
