Licensing Rules and Regulations

North Dakota has laws governing early childhood services to assure that children are provided food, shelter, safety, comfort, supervision and learning experiences commensurate to their age and capabilities, so as to safeguard the health, safety and development of those children.

The rules and regulations establish minimum standards for child care settings and assure that those standards are maintained. Anyone who cares for more than five children under the age of 12 must be licensed.
