Building a Partnership Between Parents and Early Care and Education Professionals
Every day you use your stamina, skills and persistence to support children and their families. You are teaching lifelong skills that are the foundation on which all other learning occurs. These activities are not about shapes, colors, numbers and letters; what children need to be successful in life is the ability to follow directions, play creatively, take turns, correct mistakes and adjust to change. Ada Alden will teach you that establishing a collaborative effort as the result of meaningful conversations between the professional and parent is core to each child’s success.

Workshop participants will learn ways to:

  • Implement executive function skills into daily interactions with children
  • Include parents in a meaningful way
  • Implement messages to nurture a growth mindset, instead of a fixed mindset, to promote a positive learning environment
  • Help parents replicate mindset and executive functioning skills from the child care setting in the child’s home
  • Reflect on self-care and self-competence skills that are helpful for both the participants’ professional and personal health and attitude

Participants earn 5.0 clock hours.
CEUs are available for an additional fee.

This training is Growing Futures approved.
Certificates will not be issued to participants who arrive late or leave early.
