As you read a resume or application you will be able to identify applicants that will meet the requirements for the job you have listed. Schedule interviews for applicants you are considering. Allow adequate time for each interview. Check references of eligible applicants. Notify the applicant you have chosen through a personal phone call. After you have chosen someone for the position you should send written notification to all other applicants that the position has been filled.
There are guidelines as to what you may or may not ask during an interview. You will want to ask questions that determine the applicant’s personality and knowledge needed for the specific job they are applying for. Strengths in one area can offset a possible weakness in another. The job offer should be contingent on the applicant meeting any criminal history checks, medical requirements or ability to meet the physical needs to perform the job.
