CENTER CHILD CARE EQUIPMENT COSTS
You should be aware of the typical industry costs for a center as you do your financial planning. The initial purchases for an early childhood classroom can be between $700 and $1000 per child for preschool classrooms and between $1000 and $1500 per child for infant and toddler classrooms. These estimates include all furnishings for the children, including adult (employee) seating and storage. They do not include office furnishings, staff lounge or conference areas. In addition to the furnishings budget, new programs should plan to spend $125 to $150 per child for toys, books and curriculum materials with a similar allowance for replacement and new yearly purchases.
