EMERGENCY AND DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
Child Care providers in North Dakota must have a written Disaster/Emergency Preparedness Plan. Don’t be caught wondering what to do in case of a fire, power outage, snowstorm, tornado, or toxic spill (think Minot). Give each parent a copy of the plan and review the plan on a regular basis. In the Policies section of this website there is an outline under Emergency Information (Disaster Plan) to help you get started.
Disaster planning training guides for family providers and centers from the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) are at www.naccrra.org. Go to ABOUT NACCRRA, click PUBLICATIONS and scroll to "Is Child Care Ready?..."
Red Cross information is at www.redcross.org.
