All family/group/center providers and their staff are strongly encouraged to join and be an active participant in their local child care association.  Developing a group of professional colleagues will help you build a quality program and a financially successful program. Your CCR&R or your county licensor has information on local associations.

Some national and state organizations are:

Redleaf National Institute at www.redleafinstitute.org or 800-423-8309.  National experts on family child care tax and business issues. Provides training, articles, books, individual business support, advocacy, discounts on materials, information and support services and IRS audit help.

NDCCPI—North Dakota Child Care Providers Inc. Email at ndccpi@ctctel.com or call Earleen Friez at 701-567-2822.  A statewide organization of licensed child care providers, staff and others interested in the child care profession. They advocate for providers, young children, and families; promote professionalism through training and education and participate in the legislative process.

NAEYC—National Association for the Education of Young Children at www.naeyc.org or call 800-424-2460. Membership in NAEYC automatically gives you state and local AEYC membership.

NAFCC—National Association for Family Child Care at www.nafcc.org or call 800-269-9338. Information for family providers on partnerships, care, education, professional growth and business practices.

Exchange Magazine—www.childcareexchange.com or call 800-221-2864. Resource for child care centers with articles covering staffing, team building, educational practices, new ideas, child development, training, health and more.
